These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PetAssured.ca (the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Entertainment and informational purposes only
The Site is provided for general entertainment and informational purposes only. Nothing on the Site constitutes professional advice — insurance, financial, legal, veterinary, or otherwise — and nothing here is tailored to your individual circumstances. See our full Disclaimer.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your province to use the Site or to enter any agreement with any insurance provider linked from the Site.
3. Limited licence
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view the Site for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, frame, or redistribute Site content without written permission
- Use the Site or its content to train any machine-learning model or generative AI system
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair it
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its underlying systems
- Use any automated means to access the Site except for standard search-engine crawling
4. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including text, design, code, logos, and trademarks — is owned by PetAssured.ca or its licensors and is protected by Canadian and international intellectual property law. The PetAssured.ca name and any associated logos are our trademarks.
5. Third-party links and affiliate relationships
The Site contains links to third-party websites including, without limitation, insurance providers, advertising partners, and other content publishers. We do not control, endorse, monitor, or accept responsibility for any third-party site or its content, products, services, privacy practices, or conduct.
We participate in affiliate programs and may receive a commission when you click a link and purchase a product. Your relationship with any third party — including any insurance provider — is solely between you and that third party.
6. Advertising
The Site displays advertisements served by third-party advertising networks (including Google AdSense). We do not control the content of advertisements. We are not responsible for any advertised product, service, or representation.
7. User submissions
If you submit a message, comment, correction, or any other content to us (through a contact form, email, or otherwise), you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, and disclose that content for any lawful purpose, including in published responses or corrections.
You represent that any content you submit is your own, accurate, and does not infringe any third-party rights.
8. No warranties
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, PetAssured.ca and its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising from or related to your use of the Site, your reliance on any content here, or any decision you make in connection with insurance, veterinary care, or financial matters.
To the extent any liability cannot be excluded as a matter of law, our aggregate liability to you for any cause whatsoever is limited to CAD $1.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PetAssured.ca, its operators, contributors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of, or activities on, the Site
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your reliance on any content published on the Site
- Your interaction with any third party, including any insurance provider, linked from the Site
11. Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason or no reason. We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue the Site or any portion of it at any time without notice. We are not liable to you for any such action.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The version posted at this URL is the current version. Material changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario for the resolution of any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Site.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
15. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and PetAssured.ca regarding the Site, and supersede any prior agreements.
