We started PetAssured.ca because the existing options for Canadian pet owners were either thinly-disguised marketing from insurers themselves, or US-focused content that doesn't reflect Canadian providers, prices, or regulations.
What we do
We read every pet insurance policy available to Canadian customers — page by page — and translate the fine print into plain English. Then we compare them head-to-head on the dimensions that actually matter when you claim: reimbursement rate, payout caps, deductible structure, exclusions, waiting periods, and claim experience.
How we stay honest
We earn affiliate commissions when readers buy a policy through links on this site. This is how we fund the research. But:
- We never accept paid placements. No insurer can pay to be ranked higher, featured, or recommended.
- We rank by merit, not commission. Several of our top picks pay us less than insurers we rank lower.
- We verify quarterly. Premiums and coverage terms change. Every page shows the date we last verified it against the provider's current policy documents.
