Your free, private pet health journal

By PetAssured Editorial Team Last reviewed : July 6, 2026

Quick Answer

Keep a simple, private record of your pet's health — symptoms, vet visits, medications, weights, and costs — all in one place. The journal tracks how long your pet has been symptom-free (useful for the pre-existing / curable-condition rules), totals what you've spent, and prints cleanly for your vet or an insurance claim. Everything stays on your device — nothing is sent anywhere.

Private by design. This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your pet's information is saved only on this device, is never sent to us, and needs no account or sign-in. It also works offline and installs to your home screen, so you can open it at the vet even with no signal. Use Export backup to keep a copy.

    How the journal helps

This is an organizer, not medical advice

PetAssured is not a veterinarian and not an insurance broker. This journal is a private record-keeping tool to help you stay organized and prepare for vet visits. It does not diagnose anything, and nothing it shows is a conclusion about your pet's health — always rely on your veterinarian. For how coverage rules work, see our guide to pre-existing conditions in Canada.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is my pet's information private?
Completely. The journal saves everything in your own browser (localStorage) — nothing is sent to us or anyone else, there's no account, and we never see your data. Clearing your browser data or using a different device/browser will start a fresh journal, so use Export backup to keep a copy.
    Is this medical advice?
No. It's an organizer to help you keep track and prepare for vet visits — not a diagnosis and not medical advice. It only records what you enter and shows it back to you; it never interprets it, suggests, or concludes anything about your pet's health. Always rely on your veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment.
    What's the symptom-free counter for?
Some insurers treat a curable condition as no longer pre-existing once it's been symptom-free for a set period — Fetch uses 12 months. The counter shows how long it's been since the last symptom you logged, so you can see where you stand. It's a guide only — always confirm the exact rule with your insurer.
Does the journal diagnose or recommend anything?
No. It's purely a record-keeping tool for you — it only stores what you enter and shows it back as a timeline, a symptom-day count, and a cost total. It does not diagnose, suggest, or recommend anything, and it never tells you what your pet has or what to do. For any diagnosis or treatment decision, always rely on your veterinarian.
How do I keep a backup or move to a new device?
Use the Export backup button to download a small file, then Import backup on the other device or after clearing your browser. Because everything is stored locally for privacy, there's no automatic cloud sync — the backup file is how you move or protect your journal.
